Our new adventure - new mission call

Hello everyone,

Well, isn't this exciting, I am writing on a "BLOG", or "BLOGGING", what ever that is. If it were not for our smart, smart children, we would know nothing about all this modern technology that keeps us all connected these days. So a BIG THANK YOU to Nicole for setting this up so it is easy for us. This will be our means of letting you know how and what we are doing for the next 7 months, while we are on our next mission. And a BIG THANK YOU to Kenyon and Jeanne for taking over on our legal affairs and keeping our monthly bills paid (using our money of course).

Now for the story. This wonderful opportunity has come to us and we are not ones to let a good one pass us by. There is an LDS Group called Deseret International that set up dental clinics around the world where there is a need but no regular dentist. Then they find dentist who would be willing to come and work for periods of time. Tonga is one of these places and we are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go there for 6 months and give of our medical skills. Hard job, but someone has to do it! Dick will serve as a dentist and I have been asked by the Mission Pres. to serve as their mission nurse and also to be a part-time missionary companion to one of the single Sisters who has no companion. Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that will be so good. We have always wanted to go on a medical mission and this will definately fill that desire. We have also been given the opportunity to serve as ordinance workers at the Tongan Temple during their English Sessions, which will be a thrill for us.

We will be leaving on Feb. 28th and returning home on the 24th of August. Now this is far to convenient, to not work in a long desired trip back to Dick's mission area of New Zealand and a visit to one of his companions in Australia. We also know Sister Missionaries there from our time at Temple Square. Sooooooooooooo.......... long story short, we will be in New Zealand for 2 weeks, and Australia 9 days, and then on to Tonga.

We appreciate all our family and the help and support that they always give to us and the love we feel. We know that again it will be the prayers of our grandchildren and their parents that will sustain us in being away from them for this time of service. We love all of you..................
